Did Santa bring you that shiny new all carbon, lightweight racing machine*, or more likely a new pair of (cycling) socks?
Do you want a challenge for 2012? Need a good excuse to buy a new bike, new set of wheels etc. (as if...)
Don't despair, you've still got 6 months to prepare for the C2C2C2012 and get a team together. Last year we had 79 entrants, 55 of whom had never ridden 100 miles before.
C2C2C2012 takes place on 28 June 2012, and will coincide with the day that the Olympic Torch comes through Lincoln. We will be looking to use the same route as 2011, but may review the costal meeting point
We are keen to get more teams entered this year and so we are asking last year’s entrants to spread the word about C2C2C2012 to help us get more local business people off their office chairs and onto their bikes - there aren't many of us who couldn't do with a bit more exercise.
We won’t preach about the benefits of exercise, but by taking part you can also help local youngsters in their sporting activities. The 2012 charity for C2C2C2012 will be the Junior Sports Programme which aims to encourage junior sports and youth development in Lincolnshire and East Nottinghamshire.
The Junior Sports Programme is now operated by The Junior Sports Programme Trust Ltd, a Charitable Company which facilitates local and regional junior sporting activities with a source of sponsorship funding, more information about this charity can be found on their website: www.juniorsport.co.uk
Please let us have any names/email addresses of people who you think may be interested in entering a team (by replying to this email), or spread the word by forwarding this email and maybe enter two teams in 2012? Invite your customers, suppliers, neighbours, or even your bank manager or accountant!
Go on, put down that mince pie and enter a team - you know it makes sense. Lycra is optional.
