Yes you - middle aged men and women in Lycra!
The snow has gone and the weather forecast is looking decidedly spring like this week. Check your kit and begin to think about going for a ride. Thinking about it in advance certainly helps, because if you leave it until the moment grabs you, there's always something that gives you the perfect excuse not to go out. It could be a small issue of a flat tyre, can't find your shorts or just missing a favourite cycling sock, but before you know it, you're back on the sofa, or back under the duvet.
One essential piece of kit (well several actually) is the under the saddle bag, or wedge pack. What you put in it depends on how big it is, but at the very least you should have:
You may also choose to carry a multi-tool, those Swiss army knives of the cycling world, for essential roadside maintenance, and emergency food, depending on your route. Even if you don't know how to use it, a passing good Samaritan might just be able to use it to get you rolling again.
The aim of C2C2C is to encourage local businesses to get out with friends, customers and colleagues and ride (and help raise some money for local charities), but the bigger picture is to develop a two tier ride - the business focussed mid-week ride and a much bigger family ride at the weekend in Lincolnshire. If you are interested in helping or have a few ideas to share, or just want to find out more about this year's ride, then we will be meeting at the Morning Star, Greetwell Gate, Lincoln, on Thursday 1 March 2012 at 6:00 'til 7:00pm. All welcome - it's not essential, but email if you think you might come along so we get an idea of how many.
Go on, get out and ride...
