As we endure the wettest drought in living memory, I can promise you two things: 1. It's not so bad getting wet on a training ride, 2. The rain won't go any further than your skin.
Not great news maybe, but reassuring nonetheless. So how wet do you want to get, and how bad will it really be?
As we approach a surfeit of bank holidays and the nights are getting lighter (if a little damp), now is the time to start upping the mileage* in preparation for C2C2C2012. Whilst it is possible to do it 'cold', it's a lot more enjoyable if every Wolds hill doesn't become K2.
(* zero to 20 miles counts as upping the mileage by the way)
Don't be shy!
We are hearing of a lot more teams entering this year (thank you to those who already have), but there appears to be a little bit of commitment phobia out there.
This could potentially mean two things:
We need entries in by the end of May, so please spread the word, and get registered:
http://www.justgiving.com/C2C2C2012. If you don't know the names of all your team(s), your entry will be confirmed and 4 spaces reserved per team.
Why not organise some team rides out after work. The best excuse to then go for food and drink.
2012 event updates
We have secured an alternative start venue for this year in the edge of Lincoln to make parking easier and also to provide a bigger space for a BBQ after the ride.
We are also looking at changing the route after Hemingby to avoid Skegness (and its traffic), but there will still be a café at the coast rendezvous.
More info to follow shortly
Go on, get out and ride...
